Ingredients:

- 1 liter apple cider
- 100 ml water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 star anise
- 5 cloves
- 1 orange (sliced)
- 2 tablespoons honey (or to taste)
- 100 ml rum (optional)

Instructions:

1. Pour the apple cider and water into a pot.
2. Add the cinnamon stick, star anise, cloves, and sliced orange to the pot.
3. Heat the mixture over low heat, but do not allow it to boil.
4. Let the cider steep for about 10 minutes to blend the flavors.
5. Stir in the honey until it is dissolved.
6. If desired, add the rum before serving.
7. Pour the spiced cider into glasses and enjoy warm.
