Delicious butter-baked doughnuts filled with caramel sauce and dusted with brown sugar. A perfect treat for your May Day table!
Preparation Time: 3 hours (includes rising time)
Serving Size: 12 pieces

Ingredients:

- Dough:
- 2 dl water
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 60 g sugar
- 40 g yeast
- 1 egg
- 50 g butter (softened)
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 200 g cold butter for rolling
- 2 tbsp brown sugar

Instructions:

1. Warm the water and dissolve the salt, sugar, and yeast in it. Add the egg and softened butter.
2. Gradually add the flour and knead the dough until smooth.
3. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
4. Roll out the dough and place the cold butter in the center. Fold the dough in half and seal the edges tightly.
5. Fold the dough four times and refrigerate for 15 minutes. Repeat this process two more times.
6. Roll out the dough again and cut it into 12 squares.
7. Fill the squares with caramel sauce and seal them.
8. Heat canola oil and deep-fry the doughnuts until golden brown.
9. Dust with brown sugar before serving.
