Delicious and rich fried pastries filled with plum jam, perfect for dessert or coffee break.
Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 10-12 pastries
Ingredients:
- A pinch of salt
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 50 g butter
- 1 dl water
- 1 egg
- About 1 liter rapeseed oil (for frying)
- 1 jar plum jam (for filling)
- 1 dl sugar
- Sugar and cinnamon (for topping)
- 7 dl all-purpose flour
- 1 dl cream
- ½ tsp cardamom
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 packets dry yeast (7 g each)
Instructions:
1. Warm the water and cream to about 40 degrees Celsius.
2. Add butter, salt, vanilla sugar, and sugar to the warm mixture. Stir well.
3. Incorporate the egg and egg yolks into the mixture, mixing until smooth.
4. Add flour, cardamom, and dry yeast. Knead the dough until it is smooth and elastic.
5. Let the dough rise under a cloth for about 30 minutes.
6. Roll the dough into a 1 cm thick sheet and cut out circles.
7. Place a spoonful of plum jam in the center of each circle and fold the edges together.
8. Heat the rapeseed oil in a deep pot.
9. Fry the pastries until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels.
10. Mix sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle over the pastries before serving.
