Delicious caramel meringue croissants, easy to make from fresh dough. Perfect dessert or treat for coffee time! Preparation Time: 45 minutes
Serving Size: 12 croissants
Ingredients:
- 1 package of fresh croissant dough - 200 g caramel sauce
- 3 egg whites
- 150 g sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 100 g melted butter (for brushing)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F). 2. Roll out the croissant dough and cut it into triangles.
3. Spread caramel sauce over each triangle.
4. Roll the triangles tightly into croissant shapes.
5. Place the croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
6. Brush the croissants with melted butter.
7. Prepare the meringue: Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gradually add sugar while continuing to beat until the mixture is glossy.
8. Fold in the vanilla sugar and lemon juice into the meringue.
9. Pipe the meringue over the croissants.
10. Bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes, until the croissants are golden brown and the meringue is set.
11. Allow to cool before serving.
