A simple and delicious orange cake topped with caramel cream. An excellent choice for celebrations or coffee breaks. Preparation time: about 1 hour
Serving size: 12 servings
Ingredients
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar - 4 dl all-purpose flour
- Zest of 2 oranges
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 can (2.5 dl) caramel whipped cream
- 2 tsp margarine
- Apricot jam
- 4 eggs
- 2 dl heavy cream
- Juice of 1 orange
- 2 dl sugar
- Almond flakes
- Diluted orange juice
- Additional caramel whipped cream for decoration
Instructions
1. Grease a 24 cm round cake pan.2. Melt the margarine.
3. Whisk the eggs and sugar until foamy.
4. Add the melted margarine, orange zest, and juice. Mix well.
5. Combine the flour and baking powder. Add the dry mixture to the batter.
6. Fold in the caramel whipped cream until smooth.
7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
8. Bake at 175°C (350°F) for about 30-35 minutes or until the cake is done.
9. Allow the cake to cool and fill with apricot jam.
10. Prepare the caramel whipped cream and spread it over the cake. Decorate with almond flakes.
11. Serve and enjoy!
