A hearty Finnish beef stew that's perfect for cozy dinners. Preparation Time: 2 hours
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 500 g beef
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 large onion
- 3 garlic cloves
- 3 carrots
- 2 potatoes
- 1 bell pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon paprika powder
- 1 liter beef broth
- 2 bay leaves
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Cube the beef and brown it in oil in a large pot.
2. Finely chop the onion and garlic, add them to the pot, and sauté until soft.
3. Peel and slice the carrots and potatoes, and cube the bell pepper. Add all vegetables to the pot.
4. Season with salt, black pepper, thyme, and paprika powder.
5. Pour in the beef broth and add the bay leaves. Let the stew simmer on low heat for about 1.5 hours.
6. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
