Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water before draining.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until the garlic is golden but not burnt.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic oil. If it seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water.
4. Season with salt to taste and continue to toss for another minute.
5. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
