Ingredients:
- 300 g pasta (e.g., penne or spaghetti)
- 400 g chicken breast, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 200 ml heavy cream
- 100 g Parmesan cheese, grated
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions in salted water. Drain and reserve a bit of the cooking water.
2. Cut the chicken breast into strips. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken strips until golden brown. Season with salt and pepper.
3. Add the chopped onion and crushed garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onions are soft.
4. Pour the heavy cream into the skillet and mix well. Let it simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes.
5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and stir. If the mixture is too dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water.
6. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and let it melt. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
7. Serve the pasta garnished with fresh basil.
