Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and a hint of chili. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and sliced garlic. Sauté until the garlic is golden brown but not burnt, about 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and stir for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a little of the reserved pasta water.
5. Season with salt to taste and toss in chopped parsley for freshness.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
