A simple and classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Perfect for a quick weeknight meal. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and sauté for another minute.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet with the garlic oil. Mix well, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
5. Season with salt, and toss in chopped parsley.
6. Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
