A comforting and delicious mulled wine infused with the warm flavor of saffron, perfect for enhancing the Christmas spirit. Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 liter red wine - 200 ml apple juice
- 100 g sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4-5 cloves
- 1-2 strands of saffron
- 1 orange (sliced)
- 100 g toasted almond flakes
Instructions:
1. Pour the red wine and apple juice into a saucepan. 2. Add the sugar, cinnamon stick, cloves, and saffron.
3. Heat the mixture over low heat, making sure it does not boil.
4. Add the orange slices and let the glögi steep for about 20 minutes.
5. Strain the glögi and serve hot with toasted almond flakes on the side.
