Spelt Porridge with Dates and Pecans

A soft and delicious porridge that is best enjoyed with cold milk and crushed pecans. Preparation Time: Over 60 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 2 dl spelt grains
- 1 l water
- 200 g fresh dates, chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp honey (optional)
- 1 dl pecans, chopped
- 4 dl milk (for serving)
Instructions:
1. Rinse the spelt grains thoroughly under cold water.
2. Bring the water to a boil in a pot and add the spelt grains. Let it boil for about 10 minutes.
3. Reduce the heat and add the chopped dates and salt. Allow the porridge to simmer on low heat for about 50-60 minutes, until it becomes soft and creamy.
4. Stir in honey if you prefer added sweetness.
5. Serve the porridge with cold milk and chopped pecans on top.
