These delicious date swirls are crispy and easy to make, a perfect addition to your holiday treat table.
Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: About 20 swirls

Ingredients:

- ½ kg ready-made puff pastry
- 300-350 g date paste (or prune paste)
- ½ dl brown sugar
- About 1 tablespoon gingerbread spice
- 1 egg (for brushing)
- Powdered sugar (for topping)

Instructions:

1. Bring the puff pastry to room temperature and roll it out into a rectangular shape.
2. Spread the date paste evenly over the surface of the pastry.
3. Sprinkle brown sugar and gingerbread spice on top of the date paste.
4. Using plastic wrap, roll the pastry sheet into a log and place it in the freezer to firm up for about 30 minutes.
5. Once the log is slightly frozen, cut it into slices about 2 cm thick.
6. Place the slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
7. Brush the slices with a mixture of egg and water.
8. Bake at 225 °C (437 °F) for about 15 minutes, or until the tops are beautifully colored.
9. Allow the slices to cool and sprinkle powdered sugar on top before serving.
