A delicious and hearty spaghetti Bolognese, perfect for a weeknight meal that takes little time to prepare.
Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Serving Size: 4
Ingredients:
- 300 g spaghetti
- 400 g ground beef
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 carrot
- 400 g can of crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Parmesan cheese (for serving, optional)
- Fresh basil (for garnish, optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in salted water until al dente. Drain and reserve a little cooking water.
2. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Peel and grate the carrot.
3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and carrot, and sauté for about 5 minutes until softened.
4. Add the ground beef to the skillet and brown it. Stir until the meat is cooked through.
5. Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Let it simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
6. Add the cooked spaghetti to the sauce and mix well. If the sauce is too thick, add a little of the reserved cooking water.
7. Serve the portions with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil on top, if desired.
