A delicious and traditional Finnish salmon pie filled with flavor, perfectly combining salmon and rye flour. This recipe is easy and quick to make.
Preparation Time: 1 hour
Serving Size: 4-6

Ingredients:

- 500 g salmon fillet
- 300 g rye flour
- 100 g all-purpose flour
- 100 g butter or margarine
- 1 dl water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 dl chopped onions
- 1 tsp dill (fresh or dried)
- 1 egg (for brushing)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the dough by mixing the rye flour, all-purpose flour, salt, and butter in a bowl. Gradually add water and knead the dough until smooth.
2. Shape the dough into a ball and refrigerate for about 15 minutes.
3. Remove bones from the salmon fillet and cut it into small pieces. Mix the salmon, onion, and dill in a bowl.
4. Take about 2/3 of the dough and roll it out into a rectangle. Place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
5. Spread the salmon mixture over the dough and roll out the remaining dough into a rectangle to cover the filling.
6. Brush the surface of the dough with the beaten egg and make a few slits on top.
7. Bake at 200°C (392°F) for about 30-40 minutes, until the surface is golden brown.
8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
