Sushi
recipe
A delicious and versatile Japanese dish made with rice, fish, and other fillings. Preparation time: 1 hour. Serving size: 4 people.Ingredients:
- 2 dl sushi rice
- 2.5 dl water
- 1/4 dl rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 200 g fresh fish (e.g., salmon or tuna)
- 1 avocado
- 1 cucumber
- 4 sheets of nori seaweed
- Soy sauce for serving
- Wasabi and pickled ginger (optional)
Instructions:
1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
2. Cook the rice in the water in a pot. Once it begins to boil, reduce the heat and cover the pot. Cook on low heat for about 20 minutes, until the rice is tender.
3. In a small bowl, mix together the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat gently until the sugar and salt dissolve.
4. Pour the vinegar mixture over the cooked rice and gently fold it with a wooden spatula. Let the rice cool.
5. Slice the fresh fish, avocado, and cucumber into thin strips.
6. Place a sheet of nori on a bamboo mat or a flat surface. Spread the rice evenly over the nori, leaving about 2 cm at the top.
7. Layer the fillings (fish, avocado, cucumber) on top of the rice.
8. Roll the nori tightly into a sushi roll using the bamboo mat. Cut the sushi roll into slices with a sharp knife.
9. Serve the sushi with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger on the side.
