Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe

A classic Italian pasta dish that is simple, quick, and flavorful. Perfect for a weeknight dinner!
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté until the garlic is golden brown but not burnt, about 2 minutes.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
4. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
5. Serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
