Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple and delicious Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- Salt to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the pan and sauté until it turns golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
4. Add the red chili flakes to the pan and stir for about 30 seconds.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve a cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the pan with the garlic and chili oil. Toss well to coat the pasta.
7. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water to loosen it.
8. Season with salt to taste and garnish with fresh parsley.
9. Serve immediately with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
