Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and a hint of red pepper flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet, cooking until the garlic is golden brown. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
5. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing it with the garlic oil.
6. If the pasta seems dry, gradually add some reserved pasta water until you reach the desired consistency.
7. Season with salt to taste and toss in chopped parsley.
8. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
