Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple and classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic and olive oil. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté until the garlic is golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to combine with the garlic and oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water.
4. Season with salt to taste and toss again.
5. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
6. Serve immediately.
