Quick and delicious pasta dish with garlic and olive oil

Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and sliced garlic, sautéing until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and a pinch of salt to the skillet, stirring to combine.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic oil mixture. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water to help it along.
5. Remove from heat and stir in chopped parsley.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with additional parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
