Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti - 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. 2. While the spaghetti is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the pan and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional minute.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and then drain the spaghetti.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the pan with the garlic and oil. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce.
7. Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
