A classic Italian pasta dish that is simple yet packed with flavor, made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes.

Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
4. Add the red pepper flakes to the skillet and cook for an additional minute.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic and oil. Toss well to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce.
7. Season with salt to taste and mix in chopped parsley.
8. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
