Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish that's simple yet full of flavor. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and sliced garlic. Cook until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional minute, stirring frequently to avoid burning the garlic.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water.
5. Season with salt to taste and toss again.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
