Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in salted water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Sauté until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water.
5. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
6. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
