Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe

A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes. Perfect for a quick and flavorful meal.
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for another 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic oil. If it's too dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water.
5. Season with salt to taste and toss in chopped parsley.
6. Serve immediately, with grated Parmesan cheese on the side if desired.
