A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes.
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir for about 30 seconds.
4. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic oil. If it seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water.
5. Season with salt to taste and mix well.
6. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
