Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until golden and fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to coat, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time if needed for moisture.
7. Season with salt to taste and mix well.
8. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
