Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and cook until it becomes golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and sauté for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
5. Season with salt to taste and mix well.
6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
