Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish that's quick to prepare and bursting with flavor. Perfect for a weeknight dinner! Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti - 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. 2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Sauté until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
5. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to coat the pasta evenly.
6. If the pasta seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to achieve your desired consistency.
7. Season with salt to taste and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
8. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
