Ingredients:
- Spaghetti (200g)
- Olive oil (4 tablespoons)
- Garlic (4 cloves, thinly sliced)
- Red chili flakes (1 teaspoon)
- Fresh parsley (a handful, chopped)
- Salt (to taste)
- Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, according to package instructions.
2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red chili flakes and cook for another 30 seconds.
5. Drain the spaghetti, reserving a little pasta water.
6. Add the hot spaghetti to the skillet and toss to combine, adding a splash of reserved pasta water if needed for moisture.
7. Season with salt and stir in the chopped parsley.
8. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
