Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until the garlic is golden but not burnt, about 2 minutes.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.
4. Season with salt to taste and remove from heat.
5. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
