A simple and flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Perfect for a quick meal. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti - 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and then drain the pasta. 2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water.
5. Season with salt to taste and toss in the chopped parsley.
6. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
