Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish featuring garlic and olive oil. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti - 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. 2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until it turns golden brown, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Add the red pepper flakes and stir for about 30 seconds to infuse the flavor.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water and then drain the pasta.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to coat the pasta evenly.
7. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.
8. Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped parsley.
9. Serve immediately, with grated Parmesan cheese on top if desired.
