Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and a touch of red pepper flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- Spaghetti (200g)
- Olive oil (4 tablespoons)
- Garlic (4 cloves, thinly sliced)
- Red pepper flakes (1 teaspoon)
- Fresh parsley (a handful, chopped)
- Salt (to taste)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Sauté until the garlic is golden brown, about 2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, along with the reserved pasta water. Toss to combine and coat the spaghetti in the garlic oil.
5. Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt to taste.
6. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
