Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once heated, add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes.
3. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to combine with the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add reserved pasta water a little at a time.
4. Season with salt to taste and toss again.
5. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
