Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple yet flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic and olive oil. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet and sauté until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
4. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve a cup of pasta water and then drain the pasta.
5. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil, tossing to combine. If the pasta looks dry, add a little reserved pasta water.
6. Season with salt to taste.
7. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
