Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe

A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes.
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, according to package instructions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and sliced garlic. Sauté until the garlic is golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
5. Season with salt to taste.
6. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley.
7. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
