Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and sliced garlic. Cook until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the red pepper flakes and stir to combine.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss well to coat in the garlic oil. If the mixture seems dry, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
5. Season with salt to taste and remove from heat.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
