Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A classic Italian pasta dish that's quick and easy to make, perfect for a weeknight dinner. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and then drain the pasta.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Sauté until the garlic is golden but not burnt, about 2-3 minutes.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time to help the sauce coat the pasta.
5. Season with salt to taste and continue to toss for another minute.
6. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
7. Serve immediately and enjoy your meal!
