Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple, classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Boil salted water in a large pot, then add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and sliced garlic. Sauté until the garlic turns golden, being careful not to burn it.
3. Add the red chili flakes and cook for an additional minute.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
5. Season with salt to taste, and toss in the chopped parsley.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
