Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet and sauté until the garlic is golden brown, about 1-2 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic oil.
5. If the pasta seems dry, gradually add a bit of the reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.
6. Season with salt to taste and toss again.
7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
