Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2-3 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Sauté until the garlic is golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
4. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
5. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
6. Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped parsley.
7. Serve immediately with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
