Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A classic Italian pasta dish that is quick to prepare and bursting with flavor. Perfect for a weeknight dinner. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for another 30 seconds.
5. Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic and oil. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce.
7. Season with salt to taste and toss in chopped parsley.
8. Serve immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
