Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A simple and flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic and olive oil. Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
3. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic oil. If needed, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
5. Season with salt and toss in chopped parsley.
6. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
