Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A classic Italian pasta dish featuring garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 2 servings
Ingredients:
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden but not burnt, about 2 minutes.
4. Stir in the red chili flakes and cook for another 30 seconds.
5. Once the pasta is cooked, reserve a cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the pan with the garlic and oil. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
7. Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped parsley and Parmesan cheese if desired.
8. Serve immediately and enjoy!
