Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
recipe
A simple and flavorful Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti - 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 60ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti. 2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and cook until it turns golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
3. Add the red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir for about 30 seconds to release the flavors.
4. Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet, stirring well to coat the pasta with the garlic oil.
5. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water, a few tablespoons at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
6. Season with salt to taste and remove from heat.
7. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
