Ingredients:
- Spaghetti - 200g
- Olive oil - 4 tablespoons
- Garlic - 4 cloves, thinly sliced
- Red pepper flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional) - for serving
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, about 2 minutes.
3. Add red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds, stirring frequently.
4. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet along with the reserved pasta water. Toss to combine and coat the pasta in the oil and garlic mixture.
5. Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt to taste.
6. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
