Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and then drain the spaghetti.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet, cooking until the garlic is golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
4. Once the spaghetti is cooked and drained, add it to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss well to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until you achieve your desired consistency.
5. Season with salt to taste and remove from heat.
6. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
