Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and a hint of chili. Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Serving Size: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 400g spaghetti
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 100ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden, being careful not to burn it.
4. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for another minute.
5. Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve a cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
6. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss well to coat in the garlic oil. If needed, add a little reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.
7. Season with salt to taste and garnish with chopped parsley.
8. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
